PAYMENT GATEWAY

[THK] A.1 Getting Started

If it’s your first time working with our payment gateway or reading our docs, this page should answer most of your questions. Understanding online payment and all processes can get complicated. But that’s not going to be the case if you work with a smart payment gateway. Let’s go through the basics first.

The role of the SIBS Payment Gateway

The SIBS Payment Gateway (SPG) is a payment gateway that facilitates the processing of online payments by providing a unified platform to initiate, manage, and monitor transactions. SPG supports different integration models, including server-to-server APIs, hosted payment pages, and embedded payment forms, while ensuring that payment flows are executed consistently and securely.

SPG simplifies the integration of online payments by handling the complexity of payment execution, transaction lifecycle management, and communication with SIBS payment services. It remains responsible for routing payment requests, managing synchronous and asynchronous payment flows, and applying security and operational controls required for online payments.

Once the payment information provided by your customers or systems is validated, SPG routes the transaction to the appropriate SIBS payment service for execution. The transaction is then approved or declined according to the applicable rules and payment method. As soon as a definitive result is available, SPG returns the corresponding response and makes the transaction status available to your systems through APIs and notifications.

Financial partners and the SIBS Payment Gateway

Financial partners, including acquirers for card payments, are responsible for debiting funds from your customers and settling the resulting transactions to your merchant account. These partners execute the financial movement associated with each payment.

The SIBS Payment Gateway connects to SIBS-managed payment services and financial partners to enable the processing of multiple payment methods through a single integration. This allows merchants to support different payment instruments without establishing direct technical connections with each underlying financial entity.

Payouts

The payouts of your transactions are performed by your financial partners and never by the gateway directly. Your transactions will usually be grouped and transferred to your bank account. Usually, payouts are done daily. Depending on the financial partner and your agreement, the schedule of your payouts may be changed to happen more frequently.

Test account & Going live

Get started in our sandbox right away and complete the form here to create a free test account.

To accept real customer payments through our gateway a production account will be required. To open your production account, you must sign a contract with your financial partner. You may apply for a production account after having a contract with your financial partner and have done the tests and certification with us.

Please be aware that you will require at least one contract with a financial partner (or acquirer for card payments) to go live. In case you fail to provide such a contract, we cannot activate your account in our production environment.
